Sustainability and the pursuit of excellence are fundamental pillars of our operation

Since 2008, we have maintained our mission: a team of professionals trained in the latest and emerging technologies, cutting-edge equipment, and a commitment to continuous improvement in the quality of our products, environmental stewardship, and social responsibility, actively contributing to the social and economic growth of our country and the region.

With a guarantee of three decades of service in the tanning of cowhide and with a commitment to sustainability, we work with international certifications such as Gold Rated by LWG Environmental Stewardship, ISO9001 and Halal, positioning ourselves as industry allies in the region and around the world, and ensuring quality and responsibility throughout our value chain.

Our environmental focus is reflected in the use of efficient technologies, certifications, and the development of our own initiatives to conserve natural resources. Furthermore, we work exclusively with raw materials obtained from deforestation-free areas and from the food industry, reaffirming our commitment to environmental preservation and animal welfare.

By designing our own treatment plant, we implement clean energy and optimized systems to reduce our carbon footprint, demonstrating that industrial progress can and should be responsible. We contribute to a greener future by offering quality products that respect the planet and people.

Quality and Environment Policy

LECOM SA It is a company that works responsibly with cowhide products. It is committed to meeting the needs of its customers and stakeholders, and to sustainable development. It seeks to contribute to this through comprehensive environmental management in the execution of all its processes, incorporating state-of-the-art infrastructure and inputs.

LECOM SA develops its production with a commitment to responsible resource management, strictly complying with legal and environmental requirements, and providing safety equipment and ongoing training to its employees.

It also identifies and informs the competent authorities of the impacts generated by the environment on the company.

LECOM SA has a comprehensive vision for the development of its business, also having a transparent administration system and efficient management of economic and financial resources.

Three axes: Productive, Economic, and Environmental, constitute the pillars of its policy, which will be reviewed periodically to continuously improve its integrated management system.

Lecom SA is committed to the environment and seeks to reduce its impact on three key environmental elements through its environmental management system:

AIR

We seek to reduce our greenhouse gas emissions by using renewable fuels and performing preventive maintenance on our units.

WATER

Our fundamental objective is to reduce water consumption and maintain high standards of treatment for effluents generated in production processes.

WASTE MANAGEMENT

Lecom SA has a waste management system that classifies waste at source and promotes the recycling and safe disposal of waste generated during production processes, always in compliance with national legislation.

Certified and globally award-winning sustainability

Lecom and Parpelli are part of LWG (Leather Working Group) and achieved the highest honor rank in international certifications, guaranteeing that both brands adhere to the principles of environmental care and international standards of quality and excellence while addressing environmental impact.

Environment

The Paraguayan government's commitment to environmental protection is reflected in policies that promote emission reduction and the efficient use of resources. As part of this national effort, Lecom is also actively working to minimize its environmental impact, achieving a sustainable production model that not only inspires but also leads the market.

We implement an efficient effluent treatment system and develop our own initiatives that promote the conservation of natural resources. We adopt international standards, such as certification. Gold Rated by the Leather Working Group (LWG), Halal and ISO9001 Certification, and we go further with internal policies that ensure the preservation of natural balance, demonstrating that quality and ecological responsibility can go hand in hand.

Products from non-deforested areas

In line with the Paraguayan government's initiative to ensure that products come from deforestation-free areas, we work exclusively with suppliers who share this commitment, ensuring that their operations do not compromise local ecosystems or contribute to environmental degradation, preserving product traceability and conserving our forests today and for future generations.

Producing leather with a sustainable approach is our mission statement and defines who we are and how we work.

Clean energy

As with the country's actions, we are incorporating sustainable energy sources through hydroelectric plants like Itaipu into our production operations to reduce our carbon footprint. From optimizing machinery to using energy-efficient systems, our facilities are designed to maximize performance and minimize environmental impact.

This transition to more sustainable energy reflects our commitment to the planet and demonstrates that industrial progress can go hand in hand with environmental responsibility.

Animal welfare

Lecom follows the Paraguayan government's guidelines to ensure animal welfare. We work with cowhide obtained exclusively from the food industry, avoiding practices that compromise animal welfare.

We ensure that our operations and those of our suppliers comply with strict ethical and regulatory standards, guaranteeing traceability and quality at every stage of our production chain. 

This approach ensures that our practices are not only environmentally responsible, but also respect the humane treatment of animals.

Industrial grease

At Lecom Group, we are committed to sustainability and respect for the environment, and our industrial fat is a testament to this commitment. This high-quality product is responsibly obtained from the waste generated during the leather tanning process. When the hides are carved, we extract the animal tallow, which is transformed into a versatile and environmentally friendly oil.

Our industrial grease not only meets rigorous international quality standards but is also a valuable resource in biodiesel production, contributing to the circular economy and waste reduction. Thanks to its exceptional properties, this product is highly sought-after in international markets, where it is used in a variety of industrial applications.
