Within the framework of the roadmap drawn up by the study on industrial development policy and decent work in Paraguay, the Paraguayan Industrial Union, next to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, paid a visit to the industrial plant of Lecom, a Paraguayan company specializing in the processing of bovine leather with a presence in international markets.
The event was supported by Karen Rosales, Senior Specialist in Employer Activities ILO Southern Cone, with the aim of learning firsthand about local industrial experiences and identifying opportunities for cooperation and technical assistance aimed at strengthening the industry and its supply chain.
The visit also provided perspective on one of the main challenges raised by the study: to move towards greater coordination between the private sector, the public sector and cooperation agencies to promote more competitive, innovative industries that generate formal employment.
